On May 13, 2016, at 1:55am, Valley County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance with a female who was resisting arrest at mile marker 135 on Hwy 55. While McCall officers were in route to assist, the Sheriff Deputy advised that the female had fled and was driving the vehicle toward McCall.
McCall officers entered the pursuit in the area of Mile High Power Sports as it continued toward McCall. As the suspect vehicle reached speeds in excess of 100 mph, officers terminated the pursuit due to the immediate threat presented to the safety of the public by the actions of the suspect. McCall police officers and the Valley County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to locate the vehicle and found it had crashed at the corner of North 3rd Street and E Lake Street into the east side of the McCall Mall, but the suspect had fled on foot.
There was damage to an Idaho Power transformer box and McCall Mall, specifically Chapala’s. There is currently an interruption in power service to Hotel McCall and the McCall Mall tenant. There were no injuries to officers or pedestrians. Agencies involved in the event included McCall Police Department, Valley County Sheriff’s Office, McCall Fire Department, Idaho Transportation on Department and Idaho Power.
The suspect driver of the vehicle was later located and placed under arrest.
