McCall City Source

August 2016

2017 will mark the 100 year anniversary of Valley County AND the City of Cascade. Many great events are being planned now to help our entire community celebrate these big milestones!

Plan ahead and mark your calendars for these events:
February 26, 2017: Valley County Centennial Celebration
July 17, 2017: Cascade Centennial Celebration

In addition to these events, the Centennial Committee is producing a 100-page coffee table style magazine to feature the history of Valley County and the communities within, 100 days of events, pioneer biographies, and much, much more! This magazine will be distributed throughout the area and proceeds from ad sales will go to fund the cost of the magazine and the community centennial celebration events.

Skills Park Opening Soon!

We’ve heard from the McCall Park’s Supervisor that the NEW! Bike Skills Park may be available for use this weekend! Special thanks to Single Track Sessions and Epikos Design who helped develop this specialized area located next to the Harshman Skate Park. This area will surely help develop some expert riders for the future!

How was it created?

  • Original plans and designs were created by Epikos and Single Track Sessions as a team!
  • Then Single Track Sessions flagged the area.
  • McCall City Parks Crew then hauled in the dirt, thinned and grubbed the area ready.
  • Finally Single Track Sessions finished up by building the features and sculpting the jumps!

Thanks to Idaho Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation granted Mountain Bike License Plate funding grant and to McCall-Donnelly School Board for giving permission to build the skills park on District property.

It’s time to make important choices for McCall’s future.

Don’t miss this chance!
City of McCall will host two public workshops on September 13 & 14.

These workshops are your opportunity to help make important choices for the city’s future.

You are the future of the city and need to be a part of its direction, plan for growth and development. McCall city officials want to hear your ideas.

Where should we place work force housing? What pathway connections are priorities to you?  Where should telecommunication towers go? Does the community support 1% for the arts? Should we regulate summer traffic using stop lights or roundabouts? These are just a few of the questions that we need feedback on!

Recent surveys have shown what you love or would improve about McCall. The community has identified specific opportunities throughout the City and helped create a vision for the future. It’s time to make decisions.  City staff and representatives from consulting firm Logan Simpson now request your input on these Big Ideas and Big Choices at public open houses which will be on:

Tuesday, September 13
5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
McCall-Donnelly High School Commons * 401 N Mission Street

Wednesday, September 14
10:00 am – 11:30 am
Payette National Forest Building Conference Room
Payette National Forest * 500 N Mission Street

The public meeting will be a workshop format where attendees can help guide the development of the City’s Comprehensive Plan and Transportation Master Plan by providing input on the Big Ideas and Big Choices.

Also, don’t forget to visit the Comp Plan website at to find out about upcoming meetings, online surveys, and plan updates.

Make sure you have a hand and a voice in shaping the City of McCall’s future, and get involved!
